If the Cavaliers brass are going to come out and say some snotty comment about him, he is going to fire right back and make sure that he tops them. That is the mindset of a true competitor. It's that "whatever you can do, I can do better" theme that he possesses about himself. James started the war when he made the decision to leave. Cleveland decided to take it to a whole new level with remarks and insults that has stuck in James' mind, and he will not let them go until he wins for good.
But what that shows, is just how much LeBron really did mean to the success of this organization. He made it clear that he wanted Danny Ferry to surround him with talent, and Ferry said that he did so.
Well, here is the group that you surrounded James with, and without him, they currently sport an record and have lost 11 straight games. This is the so called "best talent" that Ferry was able to surround him with? Cleveland hates LeBron James the most, there's no question there. But they are not alone by any means.
After LeBron made the decision to announce "The Decision" over an hour long national broadcast interview, a lot of NBA fans began to not think so highly of the King. Not only did his decision to play for Miami upset them, but also the way he went about doing it. Like he is the bad guy, and everyone is out to get him now. But, LeBron seems to be content with that villain role. In fact, it's almost as if he likes it and encourages it now days.
He led his team to the best record in the NBA. And yet because he left Cleveland to go to a better situation, where he had a better chance to win, Cleveland fans still hate him.
The Walker family's son, Frankie Jr. Even with NBA scouts taking in St. Vincent's games as early as James' sophomore year and a pro career seemingly certain, Dambrot always worried that the incredible potential could be sunk if his phenom got caught up with the wrong crowd, found the attention too much, or began to waver. And he likes underdogs. That is how he sees Akron, these are his kind of people.
If there was a worry that LeBron was no longer LeBron, that he had become too big-time, it was fleeting. But when it came down to it, while Cleveland seethed, Akron accepted it, their devotion to one of their own deeper than that to the sports team from the big city up the road.
That happens all the time, but not everyone gets called all the names under the sun for it. A common theme heard about James is his loyalty, and his willingness to take constructive criticism, honestly given. He has grown into such an impressive man but in that way, despite everything, he is still the same, sweet boy that he ever was. The funny thing is, when people say he is coming back, I say he never truly left. He is known all over the world, but he has remained true to where he came from.
