I love it and I would never replace it with a new model. Mine is made from solid metal and it is a workhorse. I once wanted a replacement blade which found on Ebay. Hang on to thee vintage models!
I have followed all the leads on replacement bowls, to no avail. I have a Cuisinart CFP 5a and the blade has broken. Can't find a replacement. Mine was made in France by Robot Coupe. Will one of the Robot Coupe blades work for my cuisinart and if so, which one? I have a Cuisinart CFP 9 which was accidentally dropped. If someone was selling a base with a burned out motor, I perhaps could just buy the plastic housing from them.
It comes off easily with just 5 screws and is much lighter to ship without the motor. But these models are so well built, I don't know if a motor has ever burned out on anyone. Thanks so much for this thread!
I have an older CFP-5a model, very functional and though I'm the original owner from the early 90s I just started using it. I just bought a DLC7 at an estate sale this morning complete with all optional accessory blades. John Liu, your comparison from years ago of the two units is supremely helpful, thank you!!
I have a very old Cuisinart maybe 30 years old? But if I were buying new today, I'd purchase a Breville. I am looking for a replacement work bowl. From what I read in previous comments there are other older models that fit? Not impressed with new models, cuisinart or other brands. Any ideas? Does anyone k ow where I can get a new blade? Looking for a replacement bowl for the robot coupe food processor, type RC-7, made in France purchased new circa I assume at this point, no OEMs, but is there a suitable replacement from later models?
From reading the blogs, I need to go to History Channel lol! I have been scouring Ebay for several weeks. Does anyone know if the Cuisinart CFP-5 tools and blades will fit. As I have read in various blogs they were all made in France by Robot Coupe back them. Thankful for any information! Yes the Cuisinart cfp4, 5,9 blades and grater, slicing discs will fit.
Also the Robot Coupe rc1a which I see is the type designation from the bottom of your machine, these were all made by Robot Coupe and sold under their name and Cuisinart name. Maybe one of us should contact Robot Coupe in France to see if new bowls can be ordered, just like new Bowls for Cuisinart DLC 7 they would not be cheap.
My two CFP-9 Cuisinart food processors see comment with photos above, originally posted "last year" are still available. Contact me if you can use them or any of the parts.
The in-laws just gave this to us. Any idea where I can find a manual? I've spent time searching online but no luck. Place blade or disc on shaft also slightly twisting until drops down, place cover with feed tube also slightly left of centre and turn counterclockwise to turn unit on, turn clockwise to turn off. Do not store unit with the lid locked on, it will damage the safety switch. HU are you still looking for a manual for RCI? I have one that I can copy for you.
Anyone else, the shaft on my grating disk for my RCI just broke -- does anyone have an intact grating disk they'd like to sell me? Has anyone had any luck repairing an original bowl? While mine has several stress cracks around the bottom edge they're not serious enough to where the bowl leaks whew!
BUT I did just discover a crack in the collar of the bowl where it attaches to the machine. Once this goes I think that'll be death! Anybody have a success story? I am wondering what the differences in are in the part of the stem that connects to the base. I wonder if it would be possible to modify the later to fit the former.
