What does beatitudes

We live now with the work of keeping our hearts morally pure by devoted to Jesus. But He rewards us by blessing us with a deeper knowledge and understanding of Himself. Jesus is our supreme peacemaker, making peace between God and us.

Our job as peacemakers include proclaiming this truth to others. This reconciliation process also extends to peace between each other- in our homes, at work, with relatives and friends. Paul gives us directions on how to live in peace in Romans Just as Jesus made peace on the cross, we take up our cross and follow Him into the work of peacemaking. Jesus warned us that the world would hate us because they hated Him first. John This could range anywhere from a stare at a restaurant as you pray before your meal, to outright rejection, to physical suffering.

Besides the future reward of heaven, we can rejoice in our fellowship with Jesus here on earth. Jesus tells us that because of our association with Him, insults, persecution and opposition will come our way. Persecution proves we have been faithful. It strengthens our faith and shows a good example to others. But we are not left alone to accomplish this task. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit to help us live them out daily. The more we are like Christ, the more we stand out. We overcome temptations by letting the Holy Spirit strengthen and equip us.

We have His power inside us to overcome and rise to the challenge to live them out. He also promises His peace for us now. My heart is at peace, neither troubled or afraid, when I claim His blessings. Someday He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and we will feast at His banquet table. We will wear white robes of righteousness and share in His glory.

Sins of the heart seem to be secret sins — except to God. He knows every man. Even in all darkness, I see the light — Jesus Himself. That gives me hope to keep going. To not fall under the pressure of sin. What new truth about the Beatitudes did you learn? Nobody can live the beatitudes without the power from on high.

I use to think blessed meant material things. For example, in the first beatitude Jesus graciously pronounces that the kingdom belongs to those who see themselves as having no spiritual resources worthy of the kingdom.

But at the same time he pronounces condemnation on the religious elite who are full of pride in their religious accomplishments. Indeed, the religiously wealthy must humble themselves before God to recognize that they have no spiritual resources that warrant entrance to the kingdom of God. The tendency of these Jewish leaders was to develop external righteousness without due regard to inner righteousness.

He declares, by contrast, that the righteousness of the kingdom of God is first internal, a matter of the heart, which will in turn affect outward behavior — Thus, each beatitude contains an implicit condemnation of religious hypocrisy that the people are to reject. But it is not enough only to hear a pronouncement. There are only two choices: the way of the kingdom or the way of the religious establishment.

As Jesus pronounces the availability of the kingdom to all, he offers the way to life. But the door to life is narrow—as narrow as Jesus cf.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Humility is the understanding that all your blessings originate from the love of God. Humility brings openness and inner peace, enabling one to do the will of God.

Those who humble themselves are able to admit our fragile nature, to repent, and to permit the love of God to guide us to reformation. Mourning in this meaning is declared a blessing because to mourn our sinful nature produces in us an intention to renew ourselves and to follow the way of God in righteousness. Furthermore, mourning implies the love for people in our lives and will be comforted by the grace of God.

A person that is meek is one that manifests self-control. We are encouraged to be meek in the light of the Lord, and not oppose but be faithful to him. Submission to the will of God can be difficult and tiresome but it will bring peace and tranquility in this world and in the next. A perpetual appetite for virtue and justice will guide us to the attainment of that desire - a development and reformation to righteousness.

Mercy is the benevolent nature of God and the righteous towards those who suffer. Love, empathy, and mercy towards a family member or neighbor will bring peace to your relationships. To be pure of heart means to be free of all selfish purposes and self-seeking motives. Jesus was the ultimate example of this as He sacrificed his own life for the redemption and salvation of mankind.

Peacemakers not only manifest peaceful lives but also work to share peace and friendship with others and to cultivate peace between God and man.
